The Budapest Sound Collective was founded in 2013. In addition to traditional concert performances, it is dedicated to experimentation, the search for new concert forms, progressive, cross genre performances and composed concert programs. Successful productions include “The Soldier's Tale” by Igor Stravinsky, staged with actors, puppets, choreography and with the musicians themselves playing stage roles as well, “The Seven Last Words of Our Saviour on the Cross” by Joseph Haydn, for which Péter Esterházy created new texts and István Nádler new, monumental paintings, and the interdisciplinary concert series “Elements”, in which variables of the musical sound, such as space, timbre, or time are playfully explored. The Budapest Sound Collective is the orchestra shaped for the 21st-century with a broad and varied repertoire in a wide range of genres.
The ensemble’s founder and artistic director is the conductor Gergely Dubóczky.
